EXPANDING OUR REACH

THROUGH BRAND AWARENESS

Women and Girls in Sport Campaign

n 2022, most of our referrals were boys, causing a supply and demand challenge. In response, we created a fully integrated campaign, in conjunction with National Girls and Women in Sports Day, utilizing a mix of voices across our community. By sharing the Team IMPACT experience from their perspective, we were able to celebrate current and past women and girls in our program to help generate girl referrals and build brand awareness.

Teammate of the Year Campaign

This year, we had our second-annual Teammate of the Year campaign, an organizational effort to recognize specific student-athletes who have gone above and beyond for their Team IMPACT teammate. We used social media, website, and email to gather nominations and tell the stories of the five TMOY finalists. Through the voices of the nominating children, we asked the community to vote on our 2023 Teammate of the Year which resulted in more than 32,000 votes.

When the program began, we never thought we’d see so many matched children competing in Championship games. But as we continue to match more kids across the nation the impact has surpassed even our own expectations.

WBZ

With our roots in Boston, we’ve been able to create some amazing relationships with local media, exemplified by the partnership we’ve built with WBZ and reporter Tiffany Chan. Through this partnership in 2023, we were able to tell a local Team IMPACT story monthly, gaining additional awareness in the local Boston area, as well as nationally on WBZ’s digital channels.

Beasley Media

Beasley Media has gone above and beyond to help spread brand awareness and recognize the work that Team IMPACT is doing in the New England area. Through donated ad space and pro-bono on-air recognition The SportsHUB and Tony Massarotti have provided a platform to share real stories of Team IMPACT match successes in an authentic way. Their collaboration has helped us to educate the community, recruit more families, and raise funds to support more matches in our program.

People Magazine

In 2023, People Magazine went behind the scenes with Adrian, an incredibly charismatic 8-year-old matched with, and often coaching, the UMASS men’s hockey team. This story was nationally featured and was an incredible moment for all involved in telling the story.
