YOUR SUPPORT MAKES IT POSSIBLE

Every Team IMPACT match changes the lives of an entire community. From the matched child to their siblings and guardians, from athletes to coaches and support staff, as well as the college and local communities, moments created through each unique Team IMPACT journey have immeasurable impact.

LIVES WITH YOUR SUPPORT.

"I just have to tell you what an incredible group of guys are on this team. I'm currently sitting in our bedroom in tears over videos of push-ups, as crazy as that sounds. These athletes are showing up for our kid in a way that no one beyond our family has in two years. I'm trying to put into words what it's like to see him grin over the messages he received from his teammates earlier this week. The best I can do is say that the response from the guys, and in turn the light in my kid, is just more than my heart can handle in the best of ways. Knowing he's coming home from school in a half hour to take seven pills of methotrexate that make him feel awful for the next two days, but will have fun videos to watch while he does it...there aren't words. I guess THANK YOU is the best I've got. For creating the team culture that's already fully enveloping my son and giving him something to cheer for and others to cheer for him."

OUR STUDENT-ATHLETES & FELLOWS IN ACTION

YOUR INVESTMENT HAS A PROFOUND IMPACT ON OUR FUTURE LEADERS

Representing Team IMPACT, fellows work in conjunction with their college communities to raise awareness and increase program participation.

In return, Team IMPACT provides fellows an opportunity to build skills in leadership, community engagement, public speaking, and professional development, preparing them to be leaders in the workforce and beyond.

Fellows are invited to our yearly summit, a place for networking, learning, and building even more camaraderie with other student-athletes from across the country. While the focus of Team IMPACT will always be on children with life-altering diagnoses, the therapeutic nature of their relationship with their team hinges on their successful interaction with the student-athletes.

NOT ONLY IS IT MISSION-CENTRIC TO INVEST TIME AND EFFORT INTO STUDENT-ATHLETES, BUT IT HELPS US ACHIEVE GROWTH AND QUALITY GOALS.

IMPORTANT INITIATIVES FOR FELLOWS INCLUDE

OUTREACH

A multi-faceted outreach approach is integral to the Team IMPACT Fellowship program. Throughout the year, fellows performed outreach in the following areas:

☞ On Campus ☞ At the Conference Level ☞ In the Community ☞ Medical Outreach

INTEGRATION WITH SAAC

It is a goal for fellows to find a way to integrate Team IMPACT and their role as fellows into their campus’s SAAC (or other student-athlete organizations), in order to expand the reach of Team IMPACT, and cement the program as truly being a part of the athletic community’s culture.

BRAND AMBASSADOR PROGRAM

Throughout the year, Team IMPACT Fellows participated in a number of national brand campaigns on social media, and learned how to use their individual platforms to spread awareness of Team IMPACT.

AWARENESS/EVENT PLANNING

Fellows are given creative license to hold different events on campus and/or in the community to help spread awareness about Team IMPACT, and create a truly unified culture between the college/university’s athletic department, and the kids and families participating in the program.

GROWING THE FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM

The growth and success of our Fellowship Program allowed us to find new ways to integrate Team IMPACT and our mission into each campus where there are fellows. Focused on the athlete experience, the Fellowship Program seeks to offer student-athletes a variety of personal and professional development experiences to supplement the work they are doing on their campuses.

STUDENT-ATHLETE FUNDRAISING

HARVARD MEN'S LACROSSE 2ND ANNUAL BURRITO BOWL

The Harvard Men's Lacrosse team, led by fellows Max and Owen, came together last year for an incredible fundraiser in support of Team IMPACT. In the 2nd annual Burrito Bowl, Harvard played against each other in an inter-squad scrimmage, with the winning team receiving custom burritos courtesy of Felipe's, while the losing team enjoyed a Sweetgreen salad of their choice.

The Men's Lacrosse team is currently matched with Team IMPACT teammate, Braxton, who has proven invaluable to the team over the past few years. His contributions extend beyond the field, lighting up everyone's day with a smile and unwavering support for his team.

Leading up to the game, Harvard set a goal to raise $1,500 for Team IMPACT, but they quickly blew this goal out of the water, raising a whopping $4,680 in a matter of days. Harvard Men's Lacrosse truly embodies all that Team IMPACT stands for—boldness, camaraderie, inspiration and grit—and shows the massive impact student-athletes can have on this organization, both on and off the field.
